Presenting The Top 30 Of The STI

We tend to throw around the term index all over the place. However do we actually understand what index are we talking about and what is it made of?

In our article “How Diversified Are Market Indexes” we touched on the Straits Times Index (“STI”) – the go to index for the Singapore market which comprised of the top 30 stocks by market capitalization.

With our recent articles on STI constituents brought to us by Willie on companies like Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (SGX:S63) “Check Out the 4 Main Businesses of Singapore Technologies Engineering (SGX:S63)!” and SIA Engineering Company Ltd (SGX:S59) “Is SIA Engineering Company Ltd’s (SGX:S59) Dividend Yield Sustainable?” we thought that it would be fitting to introduce to you the 30 constituents / companies that made up the STI!

An interesting fact was that Singapore Telecommunication Limited (SGX:Z74) had the largest market capitalisation of 62.66bil. This was approximately over 10% of the STI!
